Dannex Ayrton Starwin PLC Marks 5th Anniversary of Merger
Dannex Ayrton Starwin PLC (DAS PLC), a proudly indigenous pharmaceutical company in Ghana, commemorated the 5th anniversary of its historic merger.
The celebration, held on December 19, 2024, at the forecourt of the company’s Head Office at 5 Dadeban Road, North Industrial Area-Accra, featured the unveiling of a 5th Anniversary Plaque and the ceremonial cutting of the anniversary cake.
DAS PLC was born out of the consolidation of three leading industry players—Dannex Limited, Ayrton Drug Manufacturing Limited, and Starwin Products Limited.
The merger, finalized on December 19, 2019, brought the companies together under one strong entity, which was subsequently listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange on January 20,2020.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Nik Amarteifio, acknowledged the challenges encountered in the early stages of the merger but expressed pride in the company’s resilience. He emphasized that DAS PLC had successfully navigated the transition without redundancies, a rare achievement in mergers and acquisitions.
He further prayed for sustained growth and long-term relevance in the pharmaceutical industry. Delivering the keynote address, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Daniel Apeagyei Kissi commended the staff for their dedication and hard work, as well as the loyalty of customers whose trust has been pivotal to the company’s success. He also extended gratitude to the Board of Directors and Management for their strategic guidance in steering DAS PLC to this milestone.
The anniversary celebration not only marked five years of progress but also reaffirmed DAS PLC’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and service in Ghana’s pharmaceutical sector.
DAS PLC DONATES MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO AFFRAM PLAINS (CSR)
As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, Dannex Ayrton Starwin PLC (DAS PLC) has donated pharmaceutical products and medical consumables valued at over GH¢120,000 to the Chief and people of Amakwahkrom in the Affram Plains District of the Eastern Region.
The donation included a wide range of essential medicines such as analgesics (painkillers), dewormers, syrups, cough remedies, antacids, ointments, and blood tonics.
Receiving the items, the Chief of Amakwahkrom, Nana Otukwah Mpareko, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the management and staff of DAS PLC for their generosity and commitment to community health. He noted that the donation would significantly improve the wellbeing of residents and appealed for such support to be sustained periodically to help reduce the disease burden in the community.
In addition to the presentation at Amakwahkrom, portions of the donated medicines were distributed to the Affram Plains Development Organization and the Presbyterian Hospital in Donkorkrom. The remainder was utilized in free medical outreach programs conducted in Ntona-Boma, Amakwahkrom, and Donkorkrom during the year. This initiative underscores DAS PLC’s dedication to improving healthcare access and supporting the wellbeing of communities across Ghana.
DANNEX AYRTON STARWIN PLC HOLDS 5TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Dannex Ayrton Starwin PLC (DAS PLC) successfully held its 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 8, 2025, at the Eben-Ezer Presbyterian Church Hall in Osu.
The meeting agenda included the approval of the Annual Reports and Financial Statements, authorization for the Directors to determine the remuneration of Auditors, and the re-election of Directors retiring by rotation.
In his address to shareholders, Mr. Nik Amarteifio, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding its product portfolio and implementing strategic business initiatives aimed at driving profitability and enhancing shareholder value. He emphasized that these efforts are designed to make DAS PLC increasingly attractive to both shareholders and investors.
For the financial year under review, DAS PLC recorded revenue of GH¢173.1 million,mrepresenting a 22.7% increase over the previous year. Profit after tax stood at GH¢10.4 million, marking a 36.8% growth compared to the prior year. Looking ahead, DAS PLC remains dedicated to strengthening its retained earnings, reinforcing the equity of its brands, renewing key assets, and investing in the skills and capabilities of its workforce. These initiatives underscore the company’s long-term vision of sustainable growth and industry leadership.
